Shelter Movers Vancouver
Provides free volunteer moving services for survivors of abuse and their children. Can also help survivors go back to their abusive home and gather their belongings, where they weren't able to when they first exited the home urgently. Also coordinates onsite security services and/or local police escorts, language interpretation services, and pet relocation. Referral required from a partner agency (this includes shelters and transition houses, community agencies, other nonprofits, counsellors, RCMP/police victim services units); does not accept direct requests from clients. One to two weeks' notice required in advance of the move date. Serves Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Vancouver, and West Vancouver. Service hours are 8 am to 10 pm, seven days a week (subject to availability). Administrative hours are 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society, registered charity.
