Society for British Columbia Public Guardians and Animals (BC SPGA)
Advocates for the welfare of animals and their human companions across British Columbia and fosters a supportive network among animal lovers. The Guardian and Pets in Hardship Program helps pet guardians in crisis with veterinary costs, special needs equipment, food, and support to prevent pet surrender or seizure. The Animal Rescue and Sanctuary Program supports no-kill shelters and adoption services. Also offers an online support group for those who have had a pet seized; provides peer support and legal resource information. Hosts campaigns for pet-friendly housing and animal rights, and provides a social platform for BC animal lovers to connect and share resources. Serves BC. Office hours are 9 am to 3 pm Monday to Friday. Nonprofit society.
