Surrey Association for Community Living
Provides programs and support services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Employment services for adults age 18 and older include training, employment preparation, work experience, and job coaching. Referral required from Community Living BC (CLBC). Residential services include staffed group homes, and coordinating home share with families who would like to support people with developmental disabilities in their own homes. Respite services offer hourly, daily, or extended respite to provide relief from the daily responsibilities of caring for a person with special needs. Also offers inclusive and adaptive programs for children and youth with special needs to participate in recreational activities; offered in partnership with Surrey Parks, Recreation, and Culture. Serves Surrey and White Rock. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded primarily by Community Living British Columbia and Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Nonprofit society.
