Individualized support is offered in the areas of nutrition, housing, budgeting, self-care, social development, and vocational planning. Referral required from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH), Youth Probation, or School District #47. The Youth Justice Program (YJP) provides services for youth who have been involved in a crime and referred by the provincial government’s Youth Probation Officer (YPO) under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Offers one-on-one support in prosocial activities, health, education, employment, fostering positive relationships with others and problem-solving skills to reduce risk for re-offending. Services may also include the provision of intensive supervision for youth in need of increased support to meet the terms of their probation. The Strength in Self Youth Program provides ten sessions of support for youth ages 13 to 18 who are dealing with mental, emotional or other daily challenge, who may be on a wait list for psychiatric supports or clinical mental health counselling. Offers one-to-one support, connection, and listening from a counsellor until longer term solutions are in place.
