Vancouver is hosting seven matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 between June 11 and July 19, including two Canada matches at BC Place, alongside a month-long FIFA Fan Festival at Hastings Park and celebrations taking place across British Columbia.
Large-scale events can increase demand on community services and supports. This page highlights selected province-wide resources that may be helpful during the tournament, including victim services, sexual assault support, homelessness outreach, and harm reduction services.

Sexual Assault and Harassment
Salal Sexual Violence Support Centre offers a 24/7 province-wide crisis and information line; offers crisis assistance, emotional support, and information to women and gender diverse people who have experienced sexual violence.

Intimate Partner Violence
Battered Women’s Support Services (BWSS) provides a 24/7 (increased hours during FIFA) province-wide crisis line for survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and childhood sexual abuse.

Human Trafficking
The Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline provides 24/7 multilingual phone and web chat services to victims of sex and/or labour trafficking, affected others, and//or service providers who have human trafficking concerns. Offers emotional and crisis support and information and referral. Receives tips of potential human trafficking cases by phone or online.

Outreach
BC Housing funds community-based agencies that connect homeless people age 19 and older to housing, income assistance, and community-based support services. Outreach workers provide support to people without a fixed address by addressing immediate needs such as food, shelter, and clothing.

National Overdose Response Service (NORS)
The National 24/7 Overdose Prevention Helpline provides confidential, nonjudgmental virtual safe consumption support across Canada. Connects people using drugs alone with peers who monitor and can call 911 if needed. Offers peer support, advocacy, and third-party response options.

Harm Reduction
Toward the Heart provides harm reduction and overdose prevention information and resources. Website towardtheheart.com/site-locator has information about sites across BC that distribute safer sex, inhalation, and injection supplies, and naloxone. Also lists health authority-issued drug alerts throughout the province. In the Interior, Fraser, Northern, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver Coastal Health regions, individuals can receive toxic drug and health alerts by text; to sign up, text the word JOIN to 253787 (ALERTS).

FIFA Vancouver offers a ‘Know Before You Go’ guide that provides information on official emergency channels, emergency services, medical advice, and local supports. Includes health supports, victim resources and reporting, local information sources, safer substance use information and resources, heat and cleaner air resources, fraud protection information, advice for preventing infection, and rules about drones, boating, bikes and scooters.

Wish Drop-In Centre Society Mobile Access Program provides overnight outreach services from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM to street-based sex workers in Vancouver. Participants can call or text MAP Van staff any night of the week to request support.

RainCity Housing supports women (trans, cis, gender diverse and two-spirit folks included) that are involved in sex work. Provides outreach and services to support outdoor sex workers along the Kingsway corridor.

Regular homelessness services also remain open during FIFA.
The City of Vancouver is providing respite space for people experiencing homelessness to watch the matches at five locations in the Downtown Eastside and Downtown South on match days.
Locations: Carnegie Community Centre (401 Main Street), Balmoral Hotel site outdoor activation (159 East Hastings Street), Oppenheimer Park Fieldhouse (400 Powell Street), The Gathering Place Community Centre (609 Helmcken Street), and the Evelyne Saller Centre (404 Alexander Street).
The Vancouver Police Department Victim Services Unit provides free support to victims, witnesses and family members affected by crime and trauma. Services include emotional support, crisis intervention, practical assistance, information, and needs assessment and referrals. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.

Good Night Out Vancouver provides in-person patrolling and a safety presence to individuals who may feel unsafe. During FIFA, they have extra outreach teams in the downtown core, False Creek, and Fifa Fan Fest at the PNE. Info on where and when they can be found is on the website.

YWCA Metro Vancouver Crab Tree Corner provides extra drop-in hours and a safe space for women and children who may be fleeing violence or who feel unsafe. Hours are 3 pm to 11 pm on most match days, and 5 pm to 1 am on June 26th and July 2nd.
