911 Cell Phone Program
Safety program for seniors or individuals at high risk of relationship violence. Cell phones are programmed to dial 911 without any upfront or monthly cost to the participant. Program helps bring potentially abusive environments or individuals to the attention of police and offers safety planning assistance. Participants must meet specific eligibility requirements. Cell phone availability is limited by the supply of monitoring units. Individuals with history of domestic violence may qualify for Prime Hazard priority emergency response. Partnership between VPD, Family Services of Greater Vancouver, local emergency responders, dispatchers, and community victim service organizations. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
