Administers and enforces regulations of Animal Control Bylaw. Issues include barking and noisy dogs, loose and unleashed dogs, neglected or stray dogs, injured dogs, attacking or aggressive dogs, and dogs kept outside without appropriate shelter. Shelter services provided by BCSPCA Parksville-Qualicum and District Branch. Hours are 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday to Saturday; handles adoptions and regulations pertaining to impounded animals. The town picks up reported deceased animals found on highways and town streets.
