BCSPCA West Kootenay and District Branch is contracted to administer and enforce regulations of the Animal Control Bylaw. Issues include barking and noisy dogs, loose and unleashed dogs, neglected or stray dogs, impounded dogs, attacking or aggressive dogs, and dogs kept outside with appropriate shelter. The city Bylaw Enforcement department handles dog licensing.
