BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA) Extra Assistance - Medical Transportation Supplement
Provides medical transportation supplements to eligible individuals who are facing an immediate, life-threatening need. Applicants must be recipients of income assistance or disability assistance who are eligible for general health supplements; or a Medical Services Only (MSO) recipient; or approved under life-threatening health need. Applicants must provide written verification of the medical need for the requested transportation from a medical or nurse practitioner. Medical transportation supplements may include the cost of transportation, food or support costs (if treatment is provided on an out-patient basis), accommodation costs (once all other possible resources are explored), and escort costs. The supplement is intended for people who have exhausted all other possible resources prior to consideration. Phone service is available from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
