Provides a tax-free monthly payment to families with children under the age of 18. Combined with the Canada Child Benefit (CCB) into a single monthly payment. Families can receive up to an annual maximum of $1,750 for their fist child; the amount payable is reduced if the family's net income exceeds $29,526.  Details including amounts for additional children and amounts broken down by income bracket are available online. Program is administered by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and enrollment is automatic when registering for the Canada Child Benefit.
