BC Newcomer Services Program (BCNSP)
Supports the social and economic integration of newcomers who are ineligible to receive federally funded services. Serves temporary foreign workers, international students, provincial nominees awaiting permanent residency, and recently naturalized citizens still in need of settlement support. Immigration and settlement services include orientation, information and referral to community services, and trauma counselling. Labour market services include job market information, connection to employment opportunities, employment counselling, and assistance accessing WorkBC and other training programs. Additional support includes education on workplace rights, responsibilities, and culture. Language services include conversation groups and English language training. Serves Central Vancouver Island (Gabriola Island, Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Parksville, Port Alberni, and Qualicum Beach). Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
