BC Newcomer Services Program - North Shore
Supports the social and economic integration of newcomers in North Vancouver and West Vancouver, including refugee claimants, temporary foreign workers, post-secondary international students, provincial nominees who are not yet permanent residents, CUAET holders, and recently naturalized citizens; there may be eligibility restrictions for some services. Immigration and settlement services include orientation, information and referral to community services, and assistance navigating immigration and work permit applications. Labour market services include job market information, connection to job opportunities, employment counselling, help accessing WorkBC and other employment training and bridging programs, assistance with workplace safety or employment standards violations, and education on workplace rights and responsibilities, work safety, and workplace culture. Language services include English conversation groups and English language training. Services are in-person and online. Offered in English and Farsi. Serves North Vancouver and West Vancouver. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
