BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund
Dedicated to burn prevention and education, as well as survivor support and recovery programs in BC and the Yukon. Funds pressure garments and other medical needs for burn survivors as well as therapy programs and equipment in hospitals. Funds education and training of hospital medical staff on equipment and the treatment and care of burn survivors. An eight-suite Burn Fund Centre accommodates burn and trauma survivors and their families when they must stay in Vancouver while undergoing treatment, on discharge transition, or returning for follow-up treatment. Services also include burn prevention and awareness programs for school and the general public, a support group for adult burn survivors, a resource library, and summer camps for burn survivors ages six to 18. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
