Supports the social and economic integration of newcomers, specifically asylum seekers and refugee claimants. Settlement services include orientation, information and referral to community resources, guidance with immigration and work permit applications, housing search support, and trauma counselling. Labour market services include job market information and connections, employment counselling, short-term pre-employment and certificate courses, and assistance accessing WorkBC and other training programs. Additional support includes education on workplace rights, responsibilities, and culture. Language services include conversation groups and English language training. Serves Central Vancouver Island (Gabriola Island, Ladysmith, Nanaimo, Parksville, and Qualicum Beach). Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
