BC Smoking Cessation Program

Provides PharmaCare coverage for one continuous course of treatment of up to 12 weeks (84 days) for either nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) or a prescription medication. Applicants will get one month's supply at a time. If applicants are still smoking at the end of the treatment, they can receive coverage for another course of treatment the following year (starting January 1), if they meet the eligibility criteria again. Clients must have active MSP coverage and can register at their local pharmacy to receive gum, lozenges, or patches. For information on the program, phone lines are open 8 am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and 8 am to 4 pm Saturdays.
