Provides non-medical, in-home supports for seniors ages 65 and older, enabling people to live independently within their home and remain connected to their community. Services include light housekeeping, grocery shopping (via phone order), medical transportation (via Care Transit), friendly visiting and yard work. Snow removal and minor home repairs are subject to an available contractor. Application required; help is always available if needed. Clients allocated a subsidy level based on their household income and ability to pay. Serves Hope and the Fraser Canyon (Boston Bar, Dogwood Valley, North Bend, Sunshine Valley, and Yale). Office hours are 9 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Thursday. The Better at Home program is funded by the Government of BC and managed by United Way of British Columbia (UWBC).
