Service Description

Assists seniors who are in general good health, but require help with daily tasks to maintain independent living within their home and community as long as possible. Services include light housekeeping, grocery shopping, friendly visits, minor home repairs, and light yard work, Fees are charged for some services on a sliding scale (based on income). Serves Squamish Nation in Squamish, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver. Program hours vary; office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by MOH.

Also provides free transportation for seniors ages 65 and over living in Squamish and Tseil-Waututh Nation. Service is available across Squamish Valley, North Vancouver, and West Vancouver for appointments, shopping, and social events. Offers pick-up and drop-off with accompaniment. Services include help with vehicle entry/exit, space for personal attendant, and support for clients with dementia. May be able to accommodate folding walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters depending on the vehicle used. Service hours are typically 7 am to 5 pm. Booking is required preferably 24 hours days before trip; booking may be requested from 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday and some Saturdays. Booking of regular trips is not permitted. 24 hours notice required to cancel trip. Pre-registration is required. Transportation is free, but client must pay any parking fees. Transportation provided by volunteer and paid drivers. Office hours are 9 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
