Big Worries, Strong Spirit

Provides free Indigenous-centered coaching to help parents support children ages three to 12 with big worries - also known as anxiety. Program includes short educational online videos supported by weekly telephone coaching sessions, to build and strengthen parent and caregivers' skills to navigate their child's big worries together. Coaching is delivered by phone at flexible times over six to 12 weeks to parents and caregivers across BC. Incorporates Indigenous-centred wellness practices and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) strategies. Referral required from a physician, nurse practitioner, teacher, counsellor, social worker, early childhood educator, or family/youth support worker. Funded by the Province of British Columbia.
