Bridge Street Pathways Shelter

Provides 24-hour low-barrier, referral-based shelter for up to 34 individuals, including couples, experiencing homelessness. Outreach staff connect with people in the community, with a focus on the downtown area, and refer them to the shelter when spaces are available. Priority given to people who are actively engaging with support services and ready to be housed and engage in case management. Provides three meals daily, showers, laundry facilities, personal hygiene supplies, personal storage (day lockers, tote bins, and bicycle storage), and a day room with computer and Wi-Fi access. Support services may include wellness checks; life skills training; case management; connection to health care, cultural supports, and/or community services; and assistance transitioning to longer-term housing. Pets are not allowed. By referral through outreach workers only, with a focus on those sheltering outdoors in the downtown area (particularly around Pandora Avenue and Ellice Street); no walk-ins. Partnership with BC Housing and City of Victoria.
