Canadian Prenatal Nutrition Program (CPNP) - Vanderhoof

Offers accessible, culturally appropriate prenatal and postnatal supports to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous pregnant women. And serves families with babies up to seven months who are non-Indigenous, and up to 12 months for Indigenous. Assists women in having a healthy pregnancy and a smooth transition into parenthood. Services include prenatal vitamins, nutritional information, childbirth education and support, home visits, and weekly hospital breastfeeding/chestfeeding support for new families. Provides access to resources, unbiased information, referrals to community services, opportunities to network, increase self-esteem, and create a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families. Also offers swim group and walking groups that meet regularly. Pregnancy outreach program offers accessible, culturally appropriate support to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous women. Referral accepted from self or other. Serves the Saik'uz (Vanderhoof) area. Funded by Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
