Changes Program
Provides youth ages 12 to 18 with a range of substance use services. Changes School-Based Services provides brief individual counselling, assessment, and case management services to youth experiencing moderate to high-risk problematic substance use and registered in a public middle or secondary school in School District 23. Changes School-Based Prevention Services provides individual and group counselling for youth identified as low to medium risk for substance use. Also offers school/community substance use education and supports school staff to use a prevention and education approach to substance use issues. Referrals for school-based services accepted from self, school staff, family, caregivers, community members, and social and health services. Changes Youth Justice Substance Use Counselling Services provides a continuum of outpatient treatment services for youth ages 12 to 18 on a youth probation order who are having trouble with their substance use. Referral required from the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Youth Probation team in Kelowna. Office hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
