Cheryl Smith Residence

A 12-unit, second-stage transitional housing complex for self-identified women with children up to age 18 who are fleeing domestic violence or abuse; may accept transgender women on a case-by-case basis. Residents must be able to live independently. Staff are available to provide one-on-one support, as well as access to legal aid, counselling, community services, and housing support. Stay is up to 18 months. Can accommodate pets. Building is wheelchair accessible; units are not wheelchair accessible. Rental rate is 30 percent of resident's income or shelter portion of income assistance. Potential residents can apply online. Funded by BC Housing.
