Child and Adolescent Response Team (CART)

Service Description

Provides urgent response (within 72 hours), short-term mental health service to children and youth ages five to 18 who are experiencing acute psychiatric or emotional crises. This could include suicidality and self-harm, suspected psychotic behaviour, risk assessment for violence and violent behaviour, or sudden deterioration in existing anxiety or depression. Services include urgent assessment and consultation, clinical intervention, short-term treatment, and coordination with community resources. All services may be provided as outreach, according to the preference of the client. Referral required. Serves Vancouver. Hours are 9 am to 7:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 9 am to 5 pm Fridays.
