Child and Family Services - Duncan

Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) delegated Aboriginal agency that supports the well-being of Aboriginal children, youth, and families, especially those who are vulnerable, through child protection and family support services. Family support services include counselling, in-home supports, respite care, parenting programs, traditional healing, and relationship building. Other MCFD services coordinated through central provincial offices include helplines and after-hours support; resources and referral; funding and benefits programs; and specialized treatment for disabilities, mental health issues, and substance use. Serves the following First Nations and communities: Halalt (Chemainus), Lyackson (Chemainus), Malexel (Malahat), Penelakut (southern Gulf Islands), Qualicum, Snaw-Naw-As (Nanoose), Snuneymuxw (Nanaimo), Stz'uminus (Ladysmith), and Ts'uubaa-asatx (Lake Cowichan). Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday.
