Child, Youth and Family Connections
Focus is on mental health resiliency and capacity building for children and youth. The Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP) provides counselling to children and youth up to age 19 who have been victims of sexual abuse and sexual assault. Also provides services to children up to age 12 with sexually intrusive behaviours. The Family Capacity Program provides skill building and knowledge for parenting including assertive parenting skills, positive communication, promoting positive behaviours, conflict resolution, and building positive relationships. Also offers public education and consultation to community professionals regarding child and youth mental health. Serves Chemainus, Cobble Hill, Cowichan Bay, Duncan, Ladysmith, Malahat, Mill Bay, and Shawnigan Lake. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday; program hours vary. Programs funded by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
