Children and Youth Programs

Intensive Youth Support Services provides support to youth ages 12 to 19 in collaboration with their guardian. Assists youth in achieving agreed on time-sensitive goals, connecting with cultural resources in the community, finding shelter, accessing basic needs, and developing independent living skills. Also arranges for mentorship, guidance, and short-term intervention for low- and high-risk youth, including critical incidents where required. Referrals accepted from youth's legal guardian. Lifelong Connections assists in identifying and locating a child's family or other close community member to help facilitate ongoing connection and possible placement where appropriate. Helps search for placements with extended family when a child has been placed in foster care where it is in the best interest of the child. Also helps to facilitate and coordinate out of region and out of province kinship placements if required. Referrals accepted from social workers.
