Clearview Community Medical Detox

Provides 24-hour acute withdrawal management from alcohol and other substances. Services include group programming, relapse prevention planning, connection and referral to other community services, and support with discharge planning. Length of stay is approximately seven days depending on medical needs. Referrals are required and can be from family physicians, walk-in clinic physicians or nurse practitioners; mental health and substance use clinicians, substance use counsellors, and outreach workers within Island Health; Indigenous counsellors with First Nations Health Authority; acute care staff (hospital-based physicians and nurses); and walk-in services through a local Mental Health and Substance Use team. Non-Island Health clinical counsellors and practitioners can contact Clearview directly to receive a referral form. Once a referral has been submitted, clients are encouraged to call regularly to check on waitlist status. Serves central and northern Vancouver Island, including Tofino and Ucluelet.
