Service Description

Gives hope and support to vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of social services and practical assistance focusing on the basic necessities of life. Helps meet the immediate and short-term needs of people in distress through emergency assistance with food (four times a year), clothing vouchers (three times a year), and household goods vouchers (once a year), as well as lay counselling and emergency disaster services. Offers access to shower and laundry facilities. The Volunteer Income Tax Program provides seasonal assistance to low-income people. Also operates food programs at this location; listed separately. Serves Campbell River, Gold River, Port Alice, Port McNeill, and Tahsis. Office hours are 8 am to 4 pm Wednesday to Friday.
