Service Description

Gives hope and support to vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of social services and practical assistance focusing on the basic necessities of life. Helps meet the immediate and short-term needs of people in distress through emergency assistance with food, thrift store vouchers for clothing and household goods, lay counselling, and emergency disaster services; appointments are recommended to access these services. Personal growth lecture series covers topics such as anger management, self-esteem, recovery, budgeting, relationships, self-care, and leadership. Professional development workshops facilitate First Aid, Food Safe, WHMIS, and fork-lift training. Additional services include school supplies for children, and professional counselling. Serves Courtenay. Hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday.
