Community and Family Services - Kelowna

Gives hope and support to vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of social services and practical assistance focusing on the basic necessities of life. Helps meet the immediate and short-term needs of people in distress through emergency assistance with food, thrift store clothing and household good vouchers, lay counselling, and emergency disaster services. The Community Services Empowerment Program provides individualized, strengths-based support to help individuals and families overcome barriers and move toward stability and independence. Participants work with a case worker to set goals, develop action plans, and build life skills related to education, employment, financial empowerment, health and well-being, relationships, advocacy, safety, and community connection. Support includes emotional and spiritual care, referrals, community navigation, budgeting assistance, trauma-informed advocacy, and guidance for healthy relationships. Intake begins with an intial consultation to assess goals and program ift. Also operates a thrift store at this location; listed separately. Serves Kelowna, Peachland, and Lake Country. Hours are 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 3 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 1 pm to 3 pm Tuesdays.
