Service Description

Gives hope and support to vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of social services and practical assistance focusing on the basic necessities of life. Helps meet the immediate and short-term needs of people in distress through emergency assistance with food, lay counselling, and emergency disaster services. Also provides material assistance through thrift store vouchers for clothing, furniture, and housewares; assessment appointment is required. Offers a year-round Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Provides Legal Service Referrals for low-income people who do not qualify for legal aid. Coordinates a School Supply Program for low-income families with children; registration required. Community Rooftop Garden provides gardening space and training; registration required. Also operates emergency shelters, transitional housing, food programs, medical services, and thrift stores; listed separately. Serves Aldergrove and Langley. Office hours are 7:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
