Service Description

Gives hope and support to vulnerable individuals and families through the provision of social services and practical assistance focusing on the basic necessities of life. Helps meet the immediate and short-term needs of people in distress through emergency assistance with food, thrift store vouchers for clothing and household goods, as well as lay counselling and emergency disaster services. Women In Touch offers a variety of activities for women from 9 am to 11:30 am on Thursdays; lunch is provided. Men In Touch offers a variety of activities for men from 9:30 am to 11 am on Thursdays; lunch is provided. At The Crafters Table provides art supplies and group art facilitation from 1 pm to 3 pm Mondays. WRAP: Wellness and Recovery Action Planning Workshop is an annual eight-week educational workshop for individuals in recovery from substance use or mental illness; offered in partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health, registration required. Youth Mentorship matches teens with a mentor who helps them to navigate adolescence, school, peers, and family life. Back to School Fair provides school supplies, haircuts, and information about community resources to children and youth. Brave Circles is a ten-month mentorship program for at-risk girls ages 12 to 15 to develop their character through stable and healthy relationships with their mentors and peers. Mentors and mentees meet one-on-one at least twice a month to participate in recreational activities, life skill building activities, and set and accomplish goals. Additional services include seasonal flu vaccinations and Christmas gifts assistance. Also operates food programs, and Infinitum Life Christian support groups at this location; listed separately. Office hours are 8:30 am to 3:45 pm Monday to Friday.
