Community Based Victim Services

Provides free and confidential community-based victim services to victims of family and sexual violence, whether the crime was reported to the police or not. Serves victims of adult sexual assault, childhood sexual assault/abuse, criminal harrassment, historical sexual abuse, and violence in relationships. Services include emotional and practical support; support groups for abused women; advocacy; information about the justice system and case progression; court orientation; accompaniment to court, hospital, and police; transportation; form completion assistance; and referral to community resources. Offers third party reporting to victims of sexual assault of any age or gender; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Also offers public education and violence prevention. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
