Community-based Victim Services

Offers information and emotional support to survivors/victims of partner assault, sexual assault, child sexual abuse, and criminal harassment or stalking, as they navigate the legal and court processes. Services include emotional support, advocacy, safety planning, assistance with child protection authorities, accompaniment to medical and/or criminal justice system services, liaison with crown counsel, information about the criminal justice system and court process, help preparing victim impact statements, form completion assistance, information on the status of police investigations and the status of court cases, information on peace bonds and restraining orders, help with applications for financial assistance, and information and referral to other community services. Also offers third party reporting to adult victims of sexualized assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Wheelchair accessible. Serves Kamloops, Ashcroft, Chase, and Logan Lake. Office hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
