Community-based Victim Services

Provides assistance to victims of crimes related to family violence and sexual violence, with or without police involvement, including violence in relationships (women, men, and child witnesses), sexual assault (all ages and genders), childhood abuse (any kind of abuse, recent or historical, for all genders), and criminal harassment (all genders). Services include critical incident response, criminal justice information, safety planning, advocacy, and emotional support throughout the justice process. Also provides accompaniment and transportation to hospital, police, court, and transition houses or shelters. Assists with form completion, court preparation, accessing income supports, and referral to other services. Offers third party reporting to adult victims of sexual assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Office hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; after-hours, contact crisis line 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
