Community Victim Services - Nanaimo

Provides justice-related support services, information and emotional support for individuals and families who are survivors of abuse and violence including sexual or physical abuse, sexual assault, relationship violence, or criminal harassment. Assists in exploring options, referrals to other services, risk assessment and safety planning, and providing information on police and legal systems. Also provides accompaniment to police and court, and information about rights for women dealing with these systems. Offers assistance completing the Victim Impact Statement, and the application form for Crime Victim Assistance. Also offers third party reporting to victims of sexualized assault; staff report the assault to police on behalf of the victim who remains anonymous. Serves Cassidy, Cedar, Ladysmith, Lantzville, and Nanaimo. Hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funding provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG).
