Provides short-term counselling to youth and young adults 13 to 25 years of age who might not otherwise be eligible for services in the community. Counsellors provide eight counselling sessions and can help clients to improve mood and anxiety, learn basic stress management techniques and coping strategies, build resilience, develop healthy communication skills and boundaries in relationships, navigate the transition into adulthood, improve self-esteem and learn assertiveness skills, and understand and explore gender identity and sexual orientation. Referral accepted from self or other. Serves Bowser, Coombs, Dashwood, Deep Bay, Errington, Horne Lake, Lasqueti, Nanoose Bay, Parksville, Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach, and Whiskey Creek. Hours are 9 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday; evening and weekend appointments are available.
