Douglas Shelter

24-hour, year-round shelter provides 40 emergency shelter beds for homeless adults, with priority given to Burnaby residents. Accepts all genders; accommodation is in male and female dorms. Services include breakfast and dinner, snacks, food and clothing donations, personal toiletries, and shower and laundry facilities. Also provides connection to counselling, health, and permanent long-term housing. Small storage lockers are available. Pets are accepted. Not wheelchair accessible. Intake is between 10 am and 10 pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. Also provides extreme response shelter between November 15 and April 15 when weather is extreme and a community alert is activated. Funded by City of Burnaby and by BC Housing.
