Douglas Street Community - Supportive Recovery Program

Service Description

Provides 22 supportive recovery beds for individuals in recovery. Staff are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Stay is up to 6 months. Services include medication management, support in making physician referrals, and referral to ongoing wound care. Also provides holistic programming including yoga, mindfulness meditation, an Aboriginal Talking Circle, art therapy, creative writing, as well as traditional addiction programs (AA, NA, SMART Recovery). Fees are per diem through Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (MSDPR). Call for referral form; main desk is staffed 24-hours a day. Individuals must submit a referral form by fax and attend an open house (11 am to 1 pm every Thursday) before being contacted by staff regarding next steps. Residential program registered with the Assisted Living Registry, Ministry of Health.
