Durrant Transitional Housing for Women

Service Description

10-bed first-stage transition house accepts women with or without children; priority is given to women with children, and women without children may be accepted if there is space. Serves women who are fleeing and/or seeking support around violence and abuse, as well as those dealing with substance use, mental and spiritual wellness, and/or homelessness. Low-barrier policy, with no drugs/alcohol allowed on the premises. Also provides a specialized transitional housing program designed for women who are seeking support to reduce or eliminate substance use but who are not yet ready for an intense residential treatment program. services provided include, accompaniment, activity groups, advocacy, emotional support, group support for children, group support for women, parenting support, and information and referral. Women must be able to live communally. Length of stay is between 30 and 90 days; the first 30 days are free and following that, rent is charged. ID is not required. Does not allow pets. Wheelchair accessible. Funded by BC Housing.
