Eagle's Nest Transition House
Provides shelter for women, with or without children, who are victims of domestic violence. Accepts transgender women if they present as women, and also accepts male children up to age 18 on a case-by-case basis. Services include emotional support, counselling, advocacy, practical assistance, and information and referral services; support is also available for children. Personal identification (ID) is not required. Limited wheelchair access; main floor accessibility except to the kitchen. Can only accommodate one family's pets. Length of stay is up to 30 days. Serves the Lakes District (Burns Lake and surrounding area). Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week; also operates a 24-hour crisis and support line. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by BC Housing.
