Esk'etemc Health Service

Provides holistic community-based health programming to foster the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well-being of Esk'etemc. Community Health Nurse provides public health program to Esk'etemc members, including pre- and post-natal counselling to parents, immunizations, conducting health conferences for infants and pre-school children, and the controlling of communicable diseases through health teaching. The Home and Community Care Program provides housekeeping and home management services, personal care services, client support to social activities, and assistance in client appointments with health services. The Home Care Nurse provides community-based home care nursing services such as acute care nursing, client assessments, case planning and case conferencing. Children's Oral Health Initiative (COHI) Program focuses on the prevention of dental disease and promotion of good oral health practices among pregnant women and primary caregivers; pre-school children, up to four years of age; and school children, five to seven years of age. Drug and Alcohol Counselling/Referrals program provides community alcohol, drug, and other chemical use/abuse counselling; referrals; education; and awareness programs. The Esk'et Patient Travel Program provides support in coordinating travel documents, transportation arrangements, and access to medical services covered under Health Canada's Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program for eligible Esk'etemc members. Office hours are 8 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 5 pm Monday to Thursday.
