Service Description

Supervised articling students and new notaries offer a full range of affordable legal services to those in BC. Serves the unmet legal needs of underserved cities, towns and reserves across BC. Clinicians provide an initial free assessment (usually around 15 to 30 minutes) before providing the client with a quote for service that is a reduced fixed-fee rate. Legal issues covered include, but are not limited to, criminal defence, civil disputes, family law, wills and estates, business organizations, residential tenancy or strata, employment and benefits, and consumer transactions. Service is culturally informed, able to address issues related to vulnerable and at-risk people across BC, including single mothers, low-income individuals, the disabled, immigrants, refugees and seniors. Clients can access legal advice and representation virtually, regardless of their location, language or mobility restrictions. Service is also offered by telephone and in-person for those are not able to access the service virtually.
