Family Advancement Program

Offers counselling and support for school-aged children and youth who are experiencing issues that are threatening the integrity of the family and causing difficulties in other settings such as schools and in the broader community. Also provides support to help parents understand the social, behavioural, and developmental needs of their children so they can maintain a healthy and supportive family environment. The goal of the program is to stabilize and strengthen the parent-child relationship, reduce emotional intensity with the family, improve overall child and family functioning in home, school and community environments. Issues addressed include behaviour problems, grief and loss, relationship problems with friends and/or family, communication skills, anger management, parent/teen conflict. Funded by Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
