Soup Kitchen provides a hot lunch or takeout meal from 11 am to 1 pm Monday to Wednesday and Fridays at Mount Arrowsmith Church (187 Alberni Highway); suggested donation of $4. Operates a Food Bank for low-income people; registration required. Free produce items are available from 8:30 am to 11 am Wednesdays and Fridays. Free non-perishable items available daily. Hours of operation are 8:30 am to 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and 9 am to 12 noon Wednesdays and Fridays. Emergency Food Hampers are available for first time clients. Also operates two satellite food banks: Kiwanis Lighthouse Community Cupboard at Wildwood Community Church (113 McColl Road, Bowser) by appointment on the second Wednesday of every month), and Grace Community Cupboard at Grace United Church (2304 Alberni Highway, Coombs) by appointment on the third Wednesday of every month.
