Lends a variety of health equipment to eligible individuals experiencing illness, injury, or mobility issues. The Basic Short Term Loan Program provides aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, bath seats and benches, commodes and toilet seats, crutches and canes, bed handles, and other medical equipment. Referral required from Health Authority, or from a private community care provider such as a family physician, chiropractor, or physical therapist. The Advanced Short Term Loan Program (HELP Plus) provides a range of advanced equipment such as hospital beds, specialty mattresses, and patient lifts. Referral required from a healthcare professional as identified by the Health Authority or health organization is required.
