Healthy Aging Programs
Supports seniors to maintain independence and to remain active to their communities. SOAR (Seniors Outreach and Resources) Drop in Centre serves drop in coffee, snacks, and Souper Seniors from 9 am to 1 pm Wednesdays. Chair Yoga is offered at 9 am on Mondays; registration required. Social Prescribing program connects adults ages 65 and over with a wide-range of local, non-medical community programs that support participant health and wellness. Navigation and Peer Support program provides form completion services, assistance with appointments, and one to one technology support. One Stop Information Line provides information and referrals to community services for seniors, caregivers, and other individuals of need residing in the Kimberley area; runs weekdays, callbacks may take up to 48 hours. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Wednesday; coordinators are available by appointment only in the community or home locations. Funded by the United Way of BC, Interior Health and other community funders.
