Homelessness Prevention Program - Smithers
Provides services to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, in particular people of Indigenous descent, women who have experienced violence or are at risk of violence, youth transitioning out of foster care, and individuals leaving the correctional or hospital systems. Helps individuals access rental housing in the private market, through support services such as referrals to housing options, information on other housing subsidies, housing search assistance, and rent supplements. Also provides ongoing tenancy support, skills training, and liaison with landlords providing housing to clients. Services are based on each client's needs and goals. Referral accepted from self or other. Serves Smithers. Office hours are 8:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Funded by BC Housing.
