Kinship Care Help Line

Provides confidential, toll-free support, advocacy, and resource information to grandparents and other relatives raising a family member's child, service providers, and allies. Assists with navigating service systems such as Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) and provides information to help caregivers access answers, assistance, and resources needed to prevent and solve problems. Helps identify benefits and services that will support the family. Staff are trained in advocacy, social work, family law, and government services related to child welfare and kinship caregiving. Serves callers from across BC. Helpline hours are 10 am to 2 pm Mondays,Tuesdays,Thursdays, and Fridays. Individuals can also book a Zoom appointment; available outside of helpline hours upon request.
