Kootenay Boundary Adult Supported Recovery Program

A holistic and trauma-informed, residential addictions recovery program for up to eight individuals of all genders age 19 and over who are committed in changing their relationship with substances. Program utilizes a harm reduction approach and includes therapeutic group programming, wraparound support, and community- and recreational-based activities. Participants meet weekly with a mental health and substance use counsellor as well as life skills workers. Residents can work, study and/or volunteer during their stay. Offers a smoke-free environment with no substances allowed on the property; prescription oral cannabinoids are the only form of substances accepted. Zero tolerance for violence. Accepts referrals from across BC, although prioritizes applicants who have a personal connection to communities within West Kootenay Boundary. Maximum stay is six months. Fee is $529 per month; a $300 damage deposit is required. Nelson office hours are 9:30 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and from 12 noon to 5 pm on Saturdays. Referral is through Mental Health and Substance Use Services in Nelson. Funded in part by Interior Health and by Nelson CARES Society.
